Preserving Scotland’s Heritage
Every year, JOM Charity proudly upholds Scotland’s cultural traditions and heritage by celebrating Robert Burns Day. This much-anticipated annual event celebrates the life and works of Scotland’s national poet, Robert Burns. We reaffirm our commitment to preserving Scotland’s rich cultural legacy as we come together to celebrate the Bard of Ayrshire & the whole of Scotland.
The Significance of Our Burns Day!
Our Burns Day celebration, held on January 25th, commemorates the birth of Robert Burns in 1759. It is a time of year when people come together to enjoy Scottish culture, literature, and heritage.
Traditional festivities include the following: a ceremonial special meal featuring Scotland’s national dish, haggis; recitals of Burns’ poetry and songs; traditional Scottish music and dancing; and a toast to the immortal memory of Robert Burns.
JOM Charity’s Commitment
At JOM Charity, we believe in the importance of preserving Scotland’s cultural heritage for its future generations.
This year, we proudly support a local club in celebrating Burns Day. Along with this community organisation, we will be looking to achieve the following: promote Scottish culture and traditions; encourage community involvement and social interaction; support local artists and performers; and raise awareness and funds for charitable causes.
